Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter and the son of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. However, her parents did not want her to perform until she turned an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry confessed that she wasn't confident in her acting during her high school years and began performing for a means to meet new students at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry relocated into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led her back to California and she was able to find theatre work. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. In 2015, she performed with her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a part in 9 episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. In 2017 she had an recurring role in the ABC Political thriller Scandal which starred her father. This year, she got a role as a young counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper's character. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to this character, she received the role through an audition.
